The Most Insane History of Rock

Keith Richards isn't just a legend for his riffs or his unmistakable lifestyle of excess. If there's one thing that distinguishes him in the rock world, it's his ability to tell the most unusual anecdotes. One of them, and perhaps the craziest, is the story of when he decided to inhale his own father's ashes.
In 2007, during an interview with NME magazine, Keith stunned everyone by confessing: "The weirdest thing I've snorted? My dad. I snorted him." Yes, you read that right. The Rolling Stones guitarist mixed his father Bert Richards's ashes with some cocaine and did a "high." In his typical irreverent style, he commented that his father wouldn't have taken it the wrong way. In fact, in his own words, Bert wouldn't have given a "fuck."
Richards didn't stop there. He also recounted other experiences that might have been fatal for anyone else, such as when he accidentally consumed a drug laced with strychnine in Switzerland. Although he was physically in very poor health, his mind remained conscious, and he recalled how people around him thought he was dead, while he thought, "I'm not dead ."
Over the years, Keith has experienced moments as extreme as they are unthinkable, and this anecdote is just one more example of his limitless life. For many, these kinds of stories are part of what keeps his legend alive, proving that Richards isn't afraid to challenge any expectations.
